ABOUT EDEN
I AM: Daughter. Sister. Kansan. Washingtonian. Writer. Educator. Social Justice Advocate. Fashionista. Feminist. First-Generation College Student. Faith Seeker. Meaning Maker.
[These are my identities that I feel firmly rooted in. They've been with me for 5, 10, even 26 years. I'm loud and proud about 'em.] I AM ALSO: Ladypreneur. Editor. Life Coach. Owner of Life Scribbler. [These new identities feel awkward but humbling. I've been given a voice. I've been given a gift. I'm extending myself far past my comfort zone, and I've gotta believe it'll be worth it.] Myers-Briggs tells me I'm an INFJ. Where my other INFJs at?!

My favorite quote:
"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique...keep the channel open. No artist is ever pleased. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction; a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."- Martha Graham |
ABOUT LIFE SCRIBBLER
The evolution of Life Scribbler truly feels like the squiggly line I make when I go to doodle. It’s had ups and down: times when I’d blog almost every week and times when I wouldn’t blog for months. It captured my decision to change career paths, from writer to educator. Followed my journey from Indiana to Connecticut and then to Washington when I was on the hunt for the perfect grad school. It was even there to listen when I had a random burst of creative energy at 2 AM.
Much like the ambiguous squiggle in my doodles, I can’t really define Life Scribbler. It’s one of those “it’s just a feeling” kinda things. But it’s been there. This whole time. Burning brightly for over 6 years. And with each year, it’s turned into something more than just squiggles or scribbles. The voice of it personifies my best self and has helped me come to terms with my purpose in this world. While my job may be to educate and assist college students, I feel as if my vocation goes much deeper. I believe, for example, in helping millennials who are in search of their very own purpose. By upping the ante, I’ll be offering different services that will be ignited and fueled by spirituality and love. With each and every relationship I build, I vow to practice and teach action-oriented compassion alongside those who strive to use their faith-full hearts for good. This wasn’t a peak of the squiggle I saw coming, but I’m embracing it. Will you dig a little deeper with me? I want Life Scribbler to be a place people come to when they are seeking more out of life. Are you yearning? Are you itching? Are you wondering, what's next? You've come to the right place. Let's do it together. |
