Beginning this Monday, March 20th, "Millennial Monday" will be a Life Scribbler series that will appear on the 3rd Monday of every month. I won't be sharing my thoughts and opinions, but I have sent a list of guided questions to several friends and colleagues of diverse backgrounds. They were prompted to do with those questions what they felt comfortable doing. If they felt like writing a free-flow thought on the concept of being a millennial, great. If they wanted to respond to each and every question I sent them, that was fine, too. How each guest expressed themselves wasn't important to me. It was important to me that they be the spotlight.
So why is Life Scribbler doing this series-thingy?
Curious about the first profile? The spotlight will be on Heather Ludlum, a lady who I had the pleasure of working with in college when we were both student Ambassadors. She was the best of the best in our group- always volunteering for all the tours and Alumni events. I haven't seen her in over 4 years, but still we keep in touch because she's a sweetheart and rockstar. Please don't miss out on the chance to read her profile! Her story is inspiring and she has A LOT to say about those stereotypes.
Stay tuned!
- This "series-thingy" is connected to the very mission and vision of Life Scribbler. Since this business provides catered services for the millennial generation, I thought that this might be the perfect way to educate people on who we serve.
- Life Scribbler values social justice and multiculturalism, and the millennials are now the most diverse generation! I find this to be very cool. Here's a way to give a voice to that diverse perspective.
- The millennial generation has also been labeled as entitled, tech-savvy, non-religious, non-direct communicators, and financially irresponsible. I wanted the very people who embody this generation to have a say in why these labels are correct or very out of touch with what they perceive their own identity to be.
